Chris Brunt backs West Brom as ‘a Premier League force’
Monday 24th October 2011, 10:40AM BST.
West Brom captain Chris Brunt today claimed the Baggies are becoming a “Premier League force” after they completed a memorable derby double on Saturday.
Roy Hodgson’s men defeated Villa 2-1 just seven days after their 2-0 success against Wolves.
And Brunt believes Albion are growing as a top-flight side, although he played down talk of a West Midlands power shift.
He said: “That would be a big statement to make. Villa are a massive club with a lot of history and a big ground with lots of fans every week.
“We’re delighted to go to places like that and not just make up the numbers now. We’re starting to establish ourselves as a force in the Premier League and that’s a good sign for our club.”
