Paul Scharner’s T-shirt played down
Wednesday 19th October 2011, 12:00PM BST.
West Brom boss Roy Hodgson today played down Paul Scharner’s T-shirt row in Sunday’s Black Country derby.
Scharner ended the game embroiled in controversy after Wolves boss Mick McCarthy criticised his actions in flashing a T-shirt, created by his three sons to show an Albion crest, to fans and Wolves players.
But Hodgson said: “I didn’t see it, although Mick did mention something to me afterwards because he said it was very bad.
“These days people like anything which takes away the requirement or people’s need to focus on, analyse and talk about the game.
“I didn’t read anything but I saw something on the back of a newspaper saying ‘McCarthy rants at Scharner.’ I haven’t given it too much thought.”

Wolves Fan here but have to agree with Sharner on this. It seemed to me that MM and the Wolves players were more concerned with talking about a logo on his shirt than what had just happened on the pitch, total diversion tactics if you ask me, possibly the most embassaring part of Sunday.

Looks like MM’s ‘outburst’ was about as appropriate as his team selection and player purchases.
Will he be around in January to waste another eye-watering £10m (as he has on a duff, underperforming midfielder, and a statuesque CH)?
Here’s hoping…..

So what. Don’t see what all the fuss is about….different if the t-shirt had a derogatory message, but showing a club badge made by kids, big deal!

is this the best Mick McCarthy has to moan about. Trying to ditract from the fact he is doing a poor job at Wolves. Why would anyone want to take the passion ut of football. it’s already became a game where less and less contact can be made. If we are nt carefull it will turn in to live subbuteo which will be borring to watch. Mick should concentrate on his own team and leave the supreme Black Country team alone.

looks like a Tesco carrier bag to me, fair play to him lol think we need to get a sense of humor we dish it out enough at Molineux the south bank called Joey Barton all sorts but when he played back they all moaned with disgust lol get a life

I’ve been away since yesterday morning,so I don’t know all the stories, but rather than Albion looking at their actions, shouldn’t wolves have s look at themselves?
The Scharner incident is laughable, showing the club badge on your shirt isn’t exactly the most serious crime in the world, but what happened later?
It seems that Mick,Stephen Hunt and maybe others ‘flared up’ over nothing, then wolves fans were caught urinating on the Hawthorns pitch.
Maybe it would be the honourable thing for wolves to apologise to Jeremy Peace for the embarrassing actions witnessed after the game?
What do you think?

I thought the t-shirt was a non event as did I the Wolves lads weeing on the pitch. I found it quite amusing actually…..I can see why there might be anger from some Baggies fans especially folks that over the years have had their relatives ashes sprinkled on the hallowed turf at the shrine…but I have to admit i think there is more to worry about like £42 for a ticket for the BCD….priced me right out im afraid (I and many more fans would have loved to have gone up). The pubs around Cradley/Cradley Heath were packed watching the game!

So Mick you have slated Scharner for showing his WBA shirt but kept quiet about the Wolves fans urinating on the pitch…which is worse?
Stick to your job or else you will be sacked like many a Wolves manager in November.
