Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Peter Odemwingie a hero once more

West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie ended Sunday a Baggies hero once more.
But the forward endured a nightmare build-up to the Black Country derby with online rows, mixed fitness messages and a painful omission from Roy Hodgson’s team.
The 30-year-old was all smiles again after stepping off the substitutes’ bench to seal West Brom’s 2-0 victory over Wolves.
Today, Odemwingie lifted the lid on the horrid sequence of events that went before, which began when Nigeria failed to reach the Africa Cup of Nations and he took the blame.
That was followed by a misleading injury bulletin from the national team camp that wrongly suggested the need for surgery, before the forward found himself left out of Sunday’s starting line-up.
He said: “It’s been tough. There were critics looking for reasons and I felt a little bit over-blamed for the team’s failure to qualify. I think the criticism was more about my relationship with the manager.”
