West Brom consider Scott Allan bid

West Brom could raid the Premier League loan market in January – and they are considering a swoop for teenage Scottish midfielder Scott Allan.

Sporting director Dan Ashworth has confirmed the Baggies will scour the loan market in the transfer window, as they look to boost their squad for the second half of the season.

And they could also make a signing for the long-term in 19-year-old contract rebel Allan, who could be available in a cut-price deal from Dundee United.

The Scotland international will be available for a Bosman transfer next summer and, although United would be due compensation because of his age, it could amount to less than £250,000.

The club failed in their efforts to add a defender to the squad on the final day of the summer transfer window, with moves for both Manchester City’s Nedum Onuoha and Fulham’s Chris Baird collapsing.

But Ashworth has confirmed the Baggies could resume their loan negotiations in the New Year.
