Appy: Luke Moore has a point to prove

Albion were today warned that Hawthorns old-boy Luke Moore will be desperate to prove a point if he faces his former club as a Swansea player on Saturday.

The striker will be in the Swans squad when his old team-mates visit the Liberty Stadium looking to follow up Sunday’s first points of the season from a 1-0 win at Norwich.

And Baggies assistant boss Michael Appleton believes Moore will be keen to succeed against the Baggies, for whom he failed to shine following a £3.25m switch from Villa in 2008.

Appleton said: “I was disappointed he didn’t make the impact we hoped he would because he does have talent, we know that.

“He came through the ranks at Villa and was very highly-rated after doing so well in the FA Youth Cup.

“He scored some goals there and then came to West Brom on the back of that, hoping his talent would blossom and he would become a big signing for us.

“Obviously it didn’t work out from our point of view and he might argue that he didn’t get enough opportunities, I don’t know.”

bloody ‘ell! Appy’s busy today ay he? Appy says this, Appy says that…i’m half expecting him to show up on tonight’s Question Time!

    Appy,
I don’t think he has got a point, certainly hadn’t when he played for us. Couldn’t raise a jog either. Lets show him he wasn’t worth what we paid for him. Wish that was all we had to worry about, we wouldn’t have any.
    Keep the kettle boiling lads.

Don’t boo him! The only decent game he had for us was when he took crowd abuse at home v Watford and he scored the third goal out of five. You’d have thought he had won the World Cup by the way he celebrated. If he does come on, just don’t react – and neither will he, with another half-soaked performance.

Don’t rule anything out. I’m having a deja vu moment here. Remember Craig Beattie?? Never really made his mark and was subsequently sold to Swansea. First visit back to the Hawthorns and he scores the only goal of the game.

It can’t happen again surely…….can it??

Is he in the Swans first team? If not, why not? Skill is one thing, without application it is nothing. I could fully understand if he felt he needed to show us but frankly, I don’t think he gives a toss one way or another. There are many reasons why folks lose their ‘drive’. I wonder what Luke’s were.

    Stars,
Read somewhere, lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place. Problem is, you can hardly call him lightning, because like Doyler he doesn’t strike. They would be the nightmare strike force.

I remember writing on here when he joined us that he would want to prove Villa wrong but it never happened. I still don’t think he’s a deliberately lazy player, just something not properly connected in his head. Has gone the same way as his brother both had the lot but could never make it work. Criminal waste of talent.

Swansea move the ball about well at the front and defend well but we’ve improved massively since that Beattie goal Stars In Stripes mentions whereas Swansea have improved steadily. Might be another one decided by the odd goal.

It’s been hard work ignoring Shadrag Bassey’s little jibes and wind-ups but I’ve persevered and guess what? I now have a lovely feeling of satisfaction that I can recommend to others that still don’t believe he’s Laughing Wolf. This is the last time I will mention him while he’s using this name.

    15. Hi Bully, hope you are well;
Only watched for a week or more, and left the faithful to debate amongst each other ( as ultimately it should be ) matters Baggie.
But! I find it hard to belive that shirley Bassey has turned you all inside out thrice daily.
Of course he is laffin wolf. And he never fails to play you all. Top of the form for getting you all going, of this there can be no doubt.
    You love it really.
He knows the art of the wind-up better than most. And week after week, month after month, even year after year, he plays you all at will.
Will you ever learn? I doubt it.
Hes too good, and there is no fools like old fools.
Not that i condone his behaviour you understand.

    Lonely.
Likewise I hope all is well with you and yours.

People (and I use the word loosely) like Shadrag will always be a b****y nuisance because as you know from your own side there are the constant doom and gloom merchants and long range snipers having a go at their own team that make it difficult to differentiate and Shadrag feeds on their constant moaning by copying them.

That’s assuming it’s Lonely I’m talking to and not Laughing Wolf using his monicker (see what I mean Lonely.) It’s such an easy thing to do and I must admit that I’ve been tempted to do the same thing on your side in retaliation but
    a) its so b****y childish
    b) I can’t be bothered and
    c) the majority of Wulfies are like us decent football fans and they would be the ones really affected.

Teams always fear the return of any player cos they always seem to do well – even someone as frustrating as Moore. Lets hope Jonas gives him an early “welcome back” tackle that sees him disappear for the remainder of the match.

Regards ‘Appy and the spate of recent comments…. I’m pretty sure these were ALL taken from one interview and drip fed back to us over the week. His actual comments on each story are only about 10 words so I think it’s just clever use of limited material.

    17 lonely-

sorry to disappoint you,but I have to disagree-

‘shadrag’ has got clear trademarks, and a very limited intellectual approach.
I find it extremely unlikely that ‘shirley’ is he.

Some time ago, after studying his posts,I made my own mind up.My conclusion is that-

    1) he is either an extremely annoying and embarrassing Albion fan,OR-

    2) he is a wolves fan who was quiet for a while, but has re-emerged now that people no longer talk to ‘Shirley’.

A wolves fan who likes wind-ups,and prefers to be LONELY most of the time…………

If you’ve heard of ‘The Peterloo Massacre’ in Manchester, early 19th Century, you will find that it happened because there were nasty Government spies using false names in amongst the ordinary townsfolk trying to get some say in the voting system of the time. I have an inbuilt revulsion of folk using false names. We had a notice in WW2, “Careless talk costs lives”. I can’t change, too old, but these posters should get their heads examined nonetheless.

The majority of wolves fans are ok, you just have to stand up wind from them and wipe the moisture from your face.
Appy does appear to be the clubs spokesman. Which is not a bad thing, he has his heart in the right place and its all positive. As for Luke moore, he has the pace, the ability all the tools needed to be a good striker but in my opinion not the mental strength. He gave up too easily and always looked depressed. Anyway have to go for 3 points on sat.

    21,

    morning Max,

Bully and myself grew up in Smethwick, alongside mainly villa fans,so maybe we can’t see things from your viewpoint.

Having said that, when I occasionally look at the wolves site, there seems to be a lot of aggression, and very little humour, and only a small percentage of ‘visitors’ from over there seem to be intelligent and friendly here.

I hope that’s not a true reflection of the majority of their fans, but if it is,I’m glad I was born on the doorstep of the Hawthorns.
