Jonas Olsson wants ‘deadly’ Albion
Tuesday 30th August 2011, 2:30PM BST.
Jonas Olsson today warned Albion they must become “deadly” to pick up their first points of the season.
The Baggies centre-back insisted Roy Hodgson’s men were not good enough, despite earning plaudits for their performances in the first three Premier League matches of the campaign.
Olsson said: “We didn’t play as well as we can do or do the necessary things to make sure we came away with one point or three.
“The basics are there, we look very solid and we create chances. But we have to make sure we’re deadly in both boxes.
“We have to make sure we’re there to prevent teams from scoring and when we have a goal opportunity we have to make sure we put it away.”
The Sweden international insisted the Baggies cannot blame luck for their three successive defeats at the start of the campaign.
He said: “We deserve some points but unfortunately you don’t get any points when you make errors like we have.
“I don’t think it’s luck. You are heading the wrong way if you blame defeats on bad luck.”
