More to come from Peter Odemwingie
Tuesday 23rd August 2011, 11:01AM BST.
Peter Odemwingie today insisted his best years at Albion are ahead of him as he targeted a return to full fitness.
The Nigeria international celebrated signing a new three-year contract by returning from injury in Saturday’s Premier League defeat at Chelsea.
And, despite hitting a career-best 15 goals in his first Premier League season, Odemwingie is confident he will get even better once he shakes off his ankle problems fully.
He said: “I feel more experienced now and the Premier League last season really improved my game.
“I feel that the difficult league brought the best out of me as a player and I hope this season I will show that I am an even better player.”
In his absence, new signing Shane Long has bagged a goal in each of his first two Albion appearances.
And Odemwingie is looking forward to linking up with the Republic of Ireland striker.
The 30-year-old said: “Shane is a good striker. I’m happy he’s scored two goals already as he can help us achieve and everybody has to contribute something to achieve our goal for this season.
“I’m sure he’s someone the club believe will play well at this level.”

The prospect of a fit P.O with Shane tearing up defences is a mouth watering prospect.
If we can bring in that final defender and maybe Owen Hargreaves I can see a top 10 finish being very achievable.
Looking forward to another fantastic season !!

Like all BAGGIES I cannot wait to see our two strikers on the park in full flow. These two hit men will be awesome. I believe Tchoyi will be the “STEADIER” up front, With Thomas back the sky’s the limit with that lot on form. Reminds me of the old “M”plan. I agree with players being rested for the League Cup. There is a squad of twenty-five players plus youngsters. That is what the Football Association agree will be what clubs will use through a season. They cannot go against what they agree with. AGREE?.
Well done George Thorne. I have always said, If they are big enough they are old enough. George you are big enough. AY Things lukin upill, lukin at um daernill.

Mick is really on song today. He is warning Liverpool off Doyler and naming their three main strikers, then he states “Where would he play?”. Mick, I was just thinking, What if Liverpool do not see him as a striker but as a midfield dynamo. See what I mean.

Good to see George Thorne get a better contract. Is he our most promising home grown player since Martyn Bennett?

7, sir terry
i’ve heard that as well. crazy! can’t the football authorities put some kind of cap on this? i seem to remember Blues got in some bother a few years back for overcharging away fans. unfortunately away games are out of my realms this season anyway but you’re right, it’s shameful and someone should intervene. i suppose fans will vote with their wallets at the end of the day. i live with and around albion and wolves fans, most of them from working class backgrounds and many who take kids along, and i can’t see many of ‘em spending 65 quid on a ticket to watch QPR

7 Sir Terry.
Two words sum this up ridiculous and greedy. Football used to belong to the fans. There were no ownership deeds it was just the way it was. Working class fans are now like the dodo, they will soon be made extinct by the new owners of football clubs. It makes you grateful to be a fan of a club like ours and dare I say it Wolves. But how long can owners like ours survive in the current climate? When we demand that JP gets his hand in his pocket remember that our season tickets cost £400 or to put it another way, six visits to QPR.

Following Sir Terry’s lead and going off subject. Our blue away kit. Lovely colour and very stylish when worn as a fashion accessory but if we can’t use it against a team that play in blue like Chelsea, when are we going to actually play in it?

If this correct regarding ticket prices, I would hope that away fans would boycott going to this game.
I’m afraid this is the only way us fans can give the message out that enough is enough.
But it requires ALL fans from the clubs join up – question is —- !
Could you miss watching your beloved team, cause it hard giving up that drug. Even though for some of us a ‘home’ match is near 250 mile trip.
When it’s in your blood it’s hard to dilute the colour.

I’ll bet they knock £4-50p off for Old Gits too! I gave up away games some time ago. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. I know this is like suggesting going on a diet to a 50 stone bloke, but use of the internet to bycott such highway robbery and then publicity in the London Press might work. They are supposed to treat away supporters the same as home crowd, are they not?
I wouldn’t suggest leaving scarves, shirts and hats at home then sneaking in with the home supporters because they’ve had enough rioting in The Big Smoke.
No good writing to the F.A. They are well titled….Fanny Adams.

When QPR announced their ticket prices and the fans went mental the owners pointed out that they were comparable to other London clubs.
They seem to think that being a London football club means that the rest of us will pay anything to watch them – and also they are putting themselves on a par with Chelsea, Arsenal & Spurs…… arrogant and deluded don’t quite do it justice.
I’m not sure what gates they get and I’m sure there will be enough spivs and hangers on to buy their season tickets for the premier league – but what will happen when they get relegated ??? I hope they don’t sell a single ticket next year !!

65 quid! Is that including the away coach? Chelsea tickets were 50 quid which is start ravin’ bonkers but at least it was Chelsea.
Well, for those of you that quite rightly find that price ridiculous, you could always get a cheap day return train to London (18 quid) and watch the game at a certain London pub.
