Time to map out a plan for Villa's future
- Says blogger Matthew Turvey
Albion 1 Manchester United 2
Sunday 14th August 2011, 6:00PM BST.
Steven Reid’s late own goal condemned Albion to a battling defeat to the reigning champions in their opening game of the new Premier League season.
New-boy Shane Long fired an equaliser before half-time on his debut and looked to have earned the Baggies a point.
But United, who had taken a 13th-minute lead through Wayne Rooney, pressed for a winner and it came when Ashley Young’s low cross-shot after a fine run was deflected in by the unlucky Reid.
Albion were pinned back by United from the first whistle and Young had an early shot deflected over the crossbar after Ben Foster’s poor clearance gifted the visitors possession.
Paul Scharner sent a long-range shot a few yards off target on eight minutes but United cranked up the pressure and there was little surprise when they went ahead on 13 minutes.
Rooney’s neat flick out wide found Young, who returned the pass and Rooney turned smartly away from Gabriel Tamas before firing a shot through the defenders legs and past goalkeeper Ben Foster.
United should have doubled their lead nine minutes later, when Gabriel Tamas and Jonas Olsson were guilty of indecision and Danny Wellbeck helped the ball across the face of goal, but Nani scooped a shot over from eight yards.
Reid had a shot deflected wide for Albion and Long fired wide before Nani shot over again in a goalmouth scramble.
The hosts were growing in confidence and, when a Long flick picked out the run of Scharner, his shot drew a smart flying save from United goalkeeper David De Gea.
With eight minutes to half-time, Long’s moment arrived.
The new signing picked up Somen Tchoyi’s crossfield ball and exchanged passes with Chris Brunt, before being invited to shoot from out wide by a back-tracking Chris Smalling.
Long hit a low shot that curled inside the far post beyond the left hand of De Gea.
In the final moments of the first-half, Brunt volleyed over after United failed to clear a high ball and Tchoyi saw a curling shot palmed away by the uncertain De Gea.
The start of the second-half saw United on the front foot again and Rooney sent a glancing header just wide early on from a Young free-kick.
Wih 21 minutes remaining, Nani sent a similar header wide of the far post, this time from Fabio Da Silva’s left-wing cross.
But United regained the lead with eight minutes left, thanks to the brilliance of Young.
The former Villa wide man skipped away from Brunt and advanced into the box with Albion backing off.
His drilled low shot then deflected past Foster off the unfortunate Reid.

Very hard luck Albion in not even getting a deserved point.
Although you lost, you lost with hardley any negative aspects of your overall game. Well done against the champs, they will be comming back up the M6 feeling lucky to have got away with that one.
No points, but performances such as yours this afternoon will ensure they wont we long in comming.
( secretley i hoped Man U lost today because they are now neck and neck with us for an automatic champions league place)
I hope you can hear me down there.

Well thanks wolf lol, good game we competed against the 2nd best team in the world so cant grumble at a 2-1 loss with man u having only 1 shot on target, Tchoyi had a very good first half, without odem and thomas too was, really think dorrans is going to be one of our star men this season but cant see where he will fit in???

I Feel Good. As James Brown says. Despite the result which has become a foregone conclusion how can 11 play 14 every time, I thought there were so many positives. PS Was the East stand linesman named Stiles and does Rob have a son?
I don’t like criticising Roy but I thought we needed fresh legs at least ten minutes before they got the winner. Stephen Reid, Paul Scharner and dare I say it even Youssuf looked to be running through treacle second half.
I thought Tchoyi had an excellent game and Mulumbu and Olsson but then we expect that now. Morrison had a nightmare first half but improved in the second. Shane Long isn’t the finished article yet but if he was we couldn’t have afforded him, having said that he worked his rowlocks off and won’t come up against this quality every week.
Thanks Lonely for the kind words perhaps if we keep trying we’ll get within 20 points of you by Christmas.
PS. At the risk of starting a firestorm may I observe that if a certain keeper had made the start that Ben Foster did he’d have been crucified, not to mention the dribbling later.

Sorry to let you down but we will wave as we pass you on the way up.
We only let manure win to give you a few more days of that heady feeling associated with being near the top of the Prem. Something to do with mountain sickness and a lack of oxygen WILL prove fatal and you will have to descend to a level you are more comfortable with.
Sadly, it has been known to be fatal!!!

Is laughingwolf reporting our matches for the Express and Dingle this season?. I’ve never read such a biased report in my life.
United purred like a Rolls Royce and led by a delightful goal from Rooney. Our new boy Long led our line with conviction, strength and power. What a brilliant goal, Tchoyi was at his bamboozling best. Brunt was tremendous, And found time to shore up the problem left back berth. Who said he was a quiet guy?. Late on United had to resort to parking the bus. Roy, it is obvious why you persevered to bring in Long. It’s going to be great when Osaze is back. This kid is strong and pacey, good job there wasn’t a brick wall out there, he would have run straight through it. Another mind blowing capture. I am more than heartened with what was served up and well worth the entrance fee. Must mention how lush our playing surface is, it is as good as anything in the Premiership. A woman friend of ours was hit on the hand by a ball pre-match, badly bruised. She stayed to watch the match, bless.

Great performance today. Tchoyi was definatly my man of the match, thought he was dangerous throughout. Remember Man Utd are the second best team in Europe, they certainly got a game today.
It is a shame about our first couple of fixtures, would be nice to get a few points on the board early doors but it looks tough. Would have been good to get a start as easy as Wolves and have something to build on.
Still think we look a good premier league outfit and I can’t see a relegation scrap this season either.
A fit Gera, a fit Hargreaves and a fit Odemwingie to add to today’s team as well as a possible new centre half. Can’t wait to get on with the rest of the season!!

Even though I was impressed by our performance, our achilles heal this season will be our back four (same as last season). We will not keep clean sheets, and this will lead us to struggle especially if the goals dry up the other end. Why the hell is Stephen Reid at right back, when he isn’t one? Where was Billy Jones (a recognised right back)?, and please tell me that Tamas only played due to McAuley’s illness? Tamas was replaced by Meite last season, and should be long gone. Don’t like to say it, but at least Wolves went out and got a half decent centre half in Johnson, and that’s what we miss. On a positive note though, Long and Tcoyi worked really well…small guy, big guy. I wouldn’t put Odemwingie back in, even if fit…not yet anyway!!

Good game, and the outcome we all new was comming. So lucky Utd are. All 50/50´s went there way. Tschoy was awesome, and I could see him play up front when/if Odemwinge leaves. He holds up the ball ever so well. Only Reid looked out of pace, but then again, hes not gonna be the only one doing so against Young. Remember how good he was from when Roy came in ? I´ll say give him a chance/time.

For the first twenty minutes I was feeling the same as you about the defence but United caught us on the hop by throwing everything at us and playing a high energy game. But you can only do that for a short time. Did you not watch the whole game and see that after we re-organised they didn’t trouble us too much?
I think Roy has said that he wants another CH although I think Tamas isn’t as bad as people make out. Reid hasn’t had much football lately and as Danish said Young will give a lot of full backs a hard time.
As for Odemwingie, Long did very well and worked his socks off but the difference between him and PO is`chalk and cheese. PO will be fit for Chelsea and I’d put my house on him playing.

I think your SC tunnel vision is at work again. The whole defence was jittery for twenty minutes. Foster failed to get to a couple of balls and was blocked as he half punched another. Not his fault but would our ex keeper have been granted the benefit of the doubt? He mis-kicked a clearance straight to one of their players but for some reason didn’t get a groan from the crowd, why was that? Second half when last man he almost lost the ball while dribbling around their player.
If you are telling me that you wouldn’t have been on here having a go at Carson if he’d done those things then I’ll believe you. But thousands wouldn’t.
PS As I’ve said before I think Foster is a better keeper than Carson but there do seem to be some double standards at work.

Unlucky boys as I thought you battled back and took control of a game with the champions.
Shane Long excellent signing as he kept nipping away at defenders, won free kicks not affraid to shoot and a good first touch. He will get 10 goals plus this season easily.
Chris Brunt showed he is worth giving the captains armband with that rugged performance as he was everywhere lunging in to tackles, neat passing, shouting the orders out. Man of the match for me.
Tchoiy I think if he lost some weight then life would be easier for him.
There is NO way I can see us going down at all this season and after getting the first 2 tough games out the way can start taking points.

I know what you mean but it’s nowhere near as bad as the commentary on MOTD2 last night. Emarrassing doesn’t even begin to touch it. It was as if the commentator had to put forward an explanation of what went wrong every time we put together a decent move. It couldn’t possibly be that we were matching the ‘untouchable’ Manchester United in any way (shame you can’t add a musical flourish on here whenever their name is mentioned, perhaps we shouldn’t be allowed to say their name as along with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal they are so obviously superior in every way to us mere mortals.)

We have some good positives out of yesterdays game against the champions, it was nice to see shane long work well on his debut and get on the score sheet.I thought Tschoy had a excellent game and i would not be surprized to see him have agood season as you never know what he will do next.I agree with other comment (No3,The RealBully Hoo)Roy should have brought on some fresh legs earlier, Reid Struggled, and Morrision hada poor game,Chris Brunt was having to cover postions, and he was shouting out is captaincy duties. It Will be good to get Peter Back to give us the bite in attack (His future needs to be sorted this week) so we have a settled camp lets hope we could bring another defender before transfer deadline and we can push on and gain some points and secure a place in the best leauge.

Sorry mate but your being very harsh on Fosters display ,that was his first game for us and i thought he did well , how nice to see a goalkeeper communicate with his defence. Lets face it Carson had three years to get it right and failed , Foster has had one game and your having a go , which is odd for you i must say , perhaps we should forget Carson( lord knows i wish i could ) and get behind Foster.

Enjoy your nose bleed while it last, but don’t forget to purchase an air cushion just in case you need one, LW.
Jittery start against Man Utd; isn’t that common place amongst teams like ours? Get real, heavens sake! The whole team grew into the game and if the performance can be maintained, then I see a fruitful season ahead.
Well Foster had little to do, wasn’t smart at times, but I’m happy we have him. Remember, Man Utd’s onion-bag keeper cost 18 million!
In the Prem we know the decisions favour the “big boys”, we saw it again yesterday, but I was impressed that the Albion are no longer letting it get to them.

I think that Peter Odemwingie is not injured, its he doesnt want to play for the albion unless they give him what he wants. All this injury talk is all an excuse. They at the club know that he wont be around for long ive had this funny feeling since the last day at newcastle. to be honest im gutted if he does actually leave and i honestly hope the team wont suffer. Hope Im wrong but I have that funny feeling he waiting for offers…
Now the papers will make all kinds of stories this week.. actually they have already started to mention spurs newcastle wigan and god knows what more…

Well, based on that, I am still more confident than I ever been going to a Prem season, keep that standard up and we will have no worries.
3) You beat me to it, 14 against 11 just aint playing the game, how come MOTD never picked up on it? but did on Drogba sitting on a bench, wiggling his eyes??? great unbiased journalism as usual.
Talking of MOTD, when are the BBC going to bite the bullet it and rebrand it MUMOTD, not enough they moved the studios to be nearer Old Trafford, they come out with propaganda that would have made a Third Reich Press Office blush. See if I actually ever bothered to buy a TV licence, I would complain, I really would, nauseating!
Sky stirring things up now, saying Newcastle sniffing around Odem, dont know if its genuine or just be mischievous but its there. Also reporting Wigans bid was only 1.5 mill!!!!, well if we are going to start playing silly buggers, I would like to offer £49, for Messi, I will pay it myself, ironically its the same amount as a Black and White TV Licence, I know its a laughable amount, but hey, Wigan started it!

My God are we STILL talking about Carson?! TRBH everything you said about Foster is the kind of rubbish some people used to write about Carson so please give it a rest mate because it’s starting to sound like double standards.
I know it’s not the case but it’s also starting to sound like you won’t be happy unless Foster fails so you can say ‘told you so.’

I gotta say in the first 20 minutes Man Utd were as good as any team I have seen in 30 odd years at the shrine – their one touch passing was mesmerising and they used Young like they used to use Konchelskis for the “out ball” …. we were chasing shadows.
But even then we still tried to use the ball and staged a great fight back.
Thought Tamas looked a little fragile at times but so hard to critisise when faced with that attack.
We won’t be playing the 2nd best team in the world every week – I have great hopes again for this season.

I was climbing the steps to my seat exchanging ‘hellos’. I smiled at my appreciative audience as one does, slipped badly on a step and went base over bayonet into the row of seats that were empty.
It was probably funny to watch as I did it all in ‘slow motion’ they said. Sadly, it felt like a broken rib and help was called.
“We’d like to take you to hospital” they said.
“Not a bloody chance” i answered. “I’ve waited three months for this so thank you and goodbye”. They were kind and checked me at half time, but at 1-1 and improving by the minute, what would you have done? Yet it was that sort of a day really, so we lost again, quite undeservedly in my view. Nothing is broken, but I’ll bet I’ve pulled muscles that haven’t been used since my last serious encounter with those gorgeous cuddly creatures I vaguely remember. We gid ‘em a germ, day we ?

32.Alfred, I’m with you on the St.Peter thing.
A supporter rang WM after the match. He’d talked to Peter who was fit and he reckoned he wanted a 3 year contract and he’d stay. But at what cash? He didn’t tell him that. He’ll be gone if a good offer comes in. If not, he’ll have no option but to honour his present contract.
35.Happy. Their 20 minute barrage I forecast was as good as anything I’ve ever seen. Yet by 90 minutes, we were hard done by. Man.U. will stuff some teams 4-0 if they can play like that. We mustn’t let our heads drop and we can take a lot to the cleaners too.

Lone Wolf,
i would save your words if i were you , try to give them a bit of praise and get it chucked back in your face. Baggies you were a bit unlucky with the decisions, and you did try to make a game of it, but lets not forget Man Ure are always a bit slow starting the season. We on the other hand came from behind away against a bogey team, but i’m not expecting a champions league spot !I think we both have potential to finnish mid table this season.

WEEK 1
Never will the Town have a better opportunity to glean a point from Man utd.
UTD dominated and should have been 3 0r 4 goals to the good in the first half if only they had bought their shooting boots with them.
The 2nd half brought not one..but two key injuries, to both centre backs. With Vidic and Ferdinand withdrawn from the game, UTD were their for the taking and looking vulnerable, but Town were unable to take advantage.
The new boy Foster looked very shaky making regular unforced errors but will surely be an improvement on Carson.
Morrison, Reid, Tamas and Youssef were woeful and looked unfit, running out of steam as the game wore on.
Long (6.5 million) tried and persevered and was rewarded with a fortunate goal after a howler by the UTD keeper.
The lad Choi hussled, bussled and generally tried to buldoze his way through defenders, with some weight loss he could well threat, though im not sure he will be an adequate replacement for PO.
All in all, the score flattered the Town somewhat, but on a positive note i thought Brunt gave 110%.
Hopefully Woy will have added Hargreaves to the squad before the transfer window closes.
See you next week folks for another instalment of your weekly report :-)

Every player has his price. If any club like spurs etc bid enough or reach an acceptable level then odemwingie will be sold. I’ve heard he’s just stalling to keep his options open and peace will sell if they reach his asking price. I’d sell for 7 – 10 mil. As long as we used some of the money to buy a centre half

Stating facts isn’t ‘having a go.’ The things I pointed out happened. I wasn’t criticising Foster because as I stated when our latter custodian was in charge, goalkeeper is a difficult position prone to mistakes which are magnified more than any other position. Much as our fans were singing ‘dodgy keeper’ to De Gea, he may or may not be but because the media picked out a mistake he made last week every little error he makes like the one yesterday will be held up as evidence of this. And dare I say it the lynch mob will gleefully jump on the bandwagon.
For the record I THOUGHT FOSTER HAD A VERY GOOD GAME. I THINK FOSTER IS A VERY GOOD KEEPER. I ALSO HAPPENED TO THINK SCOTT CARSON WAS A DECENT KEEPER.

40) Yes but be fair, at least Vidic and Ferdinand played most of the match, poor old Blackburn had to cobble together a side just before kick off, and still could have won, 8 attempts on target to Wolves 4, and 12 corners to Wolves 6 tells a tale of where the attacks were coming from!
In the words of Shirley Bassey, “its all just a little bit of history repeating”
Opening season 2010/11
Premier League Champions 6-0 Albion
Wolves 2-1 A team that finished below Albion
Opening season 2011/12
Albion 1-2 Premier League Champions
A team that finished below Albion, and relegation favourites this season with makeshift team, who Wolves had never beat in the Prem 1-2 Wolves
Good omens for both based on that, but a repeat season suits us, looking forward to your reports.

“they had bought their shooting boots with them”. ‘BROUGHT’ boy, ‘BROUGHT’.
“UTD were their for the taking” ‘Their’ is the possessive. Should be ‘THERE’.
“The lad Choi hussled, bussled and generally tried to buldoze his way through defenders, with some weight loss he could well threat, though im not sure he will be an adequate replacement for P.O.”
No such words as ‘hussled’ or ‘bussled’. You mean ‘hustled’ and ‘bustled’
‘Bulldoze’ has 2-’l's and ‘threat’ is of course ‘threaten’. Capital I needed for ‘I’m’

I thought you should have secured a point. After United’s initial onslaught Albion played some good football. I told you Long was a good signing, you cynics (some of you) although it took a bit of Mickey Mouse goalkeeping for him to open his account. Nevertheless he led the line well.
Some Baggies looked a bit tired towards the end…anbd that keeper….Not sure about him !
Also, Did you notice how Man Utd didn’t defend well from the front near the end ?
Nani and especially Berbatov don’t work hard at all and Albion could have taken advantage. It’s a weakness we’ll exploit down at the new improved Custard Bowl, later on.

I bet you have a twin brother…….that’ll be right??

Wall Heath Baggie – Actually i was born in Castlefield, and my Mother is a City fan and Dad is Utd fan. I chose Utd because my Dad took me to watch them as a boy. I moved to Derby for work reasons, but still watch my team as much as i can, but i suppose if i dont stay in Manchster my entire life and buy season ticket after season ticket, i must be a glory hunter, it has nothing to do with the fact that when i was young, It was actually Liverpool who were the team to support, but i chose Utd because i lived there.
I couldnt care less where you finnish this season, But when your trying to make out that you should have beaten us, when your only real chances came from hit and hope long shots in the hope that you could get something against our young keeper, when in actual fact the majority of your shots were just simple catches for him, and then you have the cheek to say that we were at full strength.
As another poster pointed out, we do start every season slowly, so i look forward to watching your lot come down to a real stadium where we will show you a real footballing lesson.

Cyril 37 – I agree it was a great start by them – my original post didn’t read as well as I had hoped… I thought we did brilliantly to turn the game around and with the amount of shots and corners we created deserved to be level at half time.
Cantello67 – Kenny Hibbett only had one foot mate (but what a left it was….) – maybe you’re thinking of his younger cousin who plays for them now – Club !!!!
p.s – hope you are ok Cyril…..

46. Cyril I you trying to take my job? If so then perhaps you should be not only to WSR but to JtH, Terry and the rest of your clan.
Incidentally on the subject of the match I thought Man U could have been 3 up at half time and 6 after 90 minutes.

Why is it every Man Ure fan you come across that’s not from Manchester has a well rehearsed cast iron reason why they support them. I’ve heard some real gems over the years.
Like Max said, give me a genuine Wolves fan any day. Although the ones I rally can’t stand are the inverted glory hunters like Lonely and Warren.

Cyril. Just a couple of points re you post No 46.
First. Would you please be kind enough to advise your mate Jack to use correct names when he posts.
Second. If you are correcting spelling and grammar please include your mates TERRY and Jack as some of their spelling and grammar does leave a bit to be desired.

68 – typical arrogance from a Man Utd fan. Did you go to the match? If so you saw a completely different game to everyone else, even Mike Phelan gave us some credit and conceded that we gave you a difficult game. Considering you spent more on your ‘keeper than we did on all our summer signings.
Yes United did miss chances and had lots of posession, but the match stats say it all – 1 shot on target which was Rooney’s goal (a superb finish I admit). You were very fortunate to get 3 points and as for the return fixture, we shall see. I have my doubts as to whether you are a genuine United fan but have given you the benefit of that doubt.

74.JtH Head. I am perfectly happy to read any blog, spelling faulty or not, but this bloke pretends to be publishing The Sandwell News. Now any newspaper worth its salt makes every attempt to be tight of grammar and spelling rates highly there. Bluntly, he is just taking the pee, so must expect to get some back. Rules of engagement old chap. Rather like the son of a silly person who mangled my name because it was there for all to see, yet he doesn’t have the guts to present HIS name for publication. I have nothing but scorn for such folk. Over to you Sir Head.

Wall Heath Baggie – Pretty much yes, But we may decide to put a few more goals past you. Dont worry, im sure you may get to play the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan one day…. maybe…. Probably not.
The Real Bully Hoo. – As i said I am from Manchester, I just moved for Career reasons. I guess it makes you a better fan if you stick it out in the city your born though, rather than pursuing a better life for myself and my family by furthering my career.
Shropshirebaggie – I did actually go to the match. I didnt say you didnt give us a game, You played some good football, and made it difficult for us. Your striker showed fabio for the lightweight defender he is. But your lots “utd get all the decisions” is clearly wrong, as i can name a number of instances where your players could have got a card, but the ref did nothing, “Utd had a full strength side” is clearly wrong too.
Refering to Mike Phelan’s comments means nothing, Have you ever heard a manager declare after a win that it was the easiest match they have ever played. Every interview in the modern game consists of, “They played well and gave us a tough time” It would be disrespectful to say anything else, and no doubt the press would make you look like a fool.
As for the stats, the only stat that matters is the score. We dont need 10 shots a game to win, and thats what makes us a quality team. As for your shots on target stats, how many of those shots were genuine chances and how many were long hit and hope shots. In fact i dont think i can recall a single opportunity for you that you should have put away, whereas we had a number, and i still cant beleive Nani missed that 1 on 1. You played well, and gave us a good game, and i gaurentee we will spank some of your closest rivals in this league allot worst than our 2-1 win, but theres no way you deserved to win.

68) Why you getting so upset? if you are saying that despite having 100s of millions worth of talent in your squad, and you STILL cant cover a couple of injuries, that’s a pretty poor state of affairs to be in. How much of an advantage do you need exactly?
What are we classing as hit and hope by the way? a unlucky for us deflection? because that’s how you won, that plus the fact that our whole team would probably be cheaper to buy than Rooney, yet we still managed 8 shots on target to your 5 is alarming.
As for coming to yours, don’t forget we were the ONLY team to get something out of Old Trafford last season, so show some respect.
I believe you when you say you a real Man Utd fan, no one watching those officials yesterday, and yet still be thinking they weren’t biased would have to be a Man Utd fan!
I suppose you think Rio shouldn’t have walked last season either?
Dont ever forget your current success is due largely in-part thanks to us. You did nothing in the Seventies, and it took our manager and club captain (plus Remi Moses) from our UEFA Cup qualified team to give you the rock that you are built on today! You know the year you finished 8th and we finished 4th. You see what happens when you have to play by the same rules as every one else.
Hows your debt going by the way? keep praying Sky don’t get bored wont you, although I do like your scarves in our traditional away colours you keep waving. Remember we are a real club, with real fans, not Prawn Sandwich ones!

maybe it’s just me,but I wonder why kenny and red devil BOTH have a problem using a capital ‘I’ when referring to themselves?
Or why a ‘life long’ united fan, born in Manchester, says ‘wait till The Baggies come DOWN to their place, when it’s always been much further ‘UP’ north?
Forget what part of the country we’re from, did we?
Something sure ain’t right here……….

Definitely think that we missed Dorrans’ creativity in the centre of midfield. Earlier substitution would also have helped.

We only need one half! – We clearly coverd the injuries as we beat you. The only thng im trying to say is We do have better players that were missing, So we clearly wernt at full strength as your trying to suggest.
Allot of our fans may not be born and bred in manchester, but they still come from all over to watch our matches. Thats pretty loyal if you ask me.
CantelloRocket 78 – Who says come up to our place? I didnt say it due to location, just a common phrase used by everyone. Anyway, it turns out i honestly dont care what you think, just wanted to make a point, and even though ive told you why, your all still obsessed that i might be a glory hunter or a wolves fan. At the end of the day though, what i said is correct, but im sure you will all brush it under the carpet in the hope that it makes you feel like you can compete with the big boys.

79 Derby Red Devil My Left Foot.
I disagree with WONOH at 80, only a Man Ure fan or a Wulfie desperate to find a way to be one up on us would come out with that. I refer you to the Gary Neville no penalty no red card last season as the most glaring example. He admitted as much on TV at the weekend as has Steve Bruce last season. Bruce also said that although you’re aware of it when it’s going your way you don’t mind (obviously.)
But I’m afraid that although you fooled me originally there are too many eagle eyes on here and you’ve left too many clues. As they say it takes a genius to commit the perfect murder. Good try though Kenny.

85) Yes you beat us, via o.g., how much was that the team (and bench) you had out Sunday valued at to achieve that result by the way?
Its true you do have fans from all over, but for precisely the reason mentioned several times before, they are glory hunters, (and Im not for one minute accusing you of that) but please, don’t kid yourself or anyone else its for any other reason.
86) I did of course mean Neville not Rio, trouble is to me a bunch of over paid, F.A. protected, excuse making, if the ref dont give it us lets crowd around him and bully him till he does, put me on pedestal and don’t mention the sister in law, or the brothel visits, BBC said something I dont like so Im not going to give any more interviews, ever, oldest club cup competition destroying, oh dear we get spanked when we play similar sized clubs, I forgot I had a drug test, honest, Prima Donna’s they tend to merge into one.

The Real Bully Hoo. – So you disagree with me that in our most recent match, young shouldnt have been given a yellow card, or the fact that a number of your players should have been given a card for very cynical challenges. Those are refs decisions that the ref got wrong in your favour, yet apparently according to you, we got all the decisions in the match. We often get decisions going for us, and yes we got some very fortunate ones in last seasons encounter, but im not talking about that, if you honestly feel you deserved to win our recent match from a few long range efforts, then your deluded. A draw might have been fair, but theres no chance you deserved a win.
JÁCK thé HÁT – And look where that gets you, 11th in the league last season, I think you will need a little bit more than fitness to challeneg our success. I dont really understand why your putting question marks after certain words, but as for parking the bus, in the majority of the first half, your lot couldnt even get it out your own half, Maybe you should look at your own tactics before commentingon others.
We only need one half! – So the 70,000 plus fans we get coming to our home matches, many of whome live many miles away from manchester are all glory hunters now? It takes more dedication, money and effort for many of our fans to come to watch our matches than your 20,000 fans who no doubt the majority live locally. We do have many glory hunters, as we have had allot of glory over the years, But i gaurentee we also have more loyal fans than you do. I will admit though, that is only because we have a much bigger fan base, and in terms of percentages your club will no doubt have a higher percentage of loyal fans.
I came on here to just offer an oppinion from the opposition, and to point out facts about the match that you all seem to be forgetting. Its clear that anything that might constitute as slightly negative in regards to your club is obviously untrue, and i must be the devil to make up such slander. But having just watched the replays of the match, it would seem the commentators agree with me in regards to the refs wrong decisions with the cards. I guess they must be Utd fans too. Dont worry, im sure you will be able to find some fool to support your club though.
This is my last post as im not a regular user of this site to comment regularly. Maybe i will come back on our next encounter. I will leave you with this, you can call man utd fans glory hunters and complain that we get all the decisions, (which i have proven incorrect, but conveniently, nobody has mentioned) but at the end of the day the league never lies, and we are without doubt the best club to ever grace the premier league, so any insults from a group of supporters that cant even call themselves a gaurenteed premier league fixture as you are the leagues yo yo club, arent going to faze any of us. Maybe when you have had the level of sucess we have had, i will take some notice on how you feel a club should be run, until then, have fun battling relegation again, you better get used to it though.

Hola amigo’s
Just arrived back home and one thing I can defiantly say is, it’s ——g hot here!
Nice to see Max,Cantello and some bloke waving his thing in the air in the Vine before the match, I vaguely remember it still being waved after the match, only I think he’d got two of ‘em.
I like many others thought we gave a good account of ourselves, can’t wait till Roy has a full squad to chose from and we’ve settled into the season, things are looking bright.
To all who sit by Me.
I’m sorry for the confusion,I know you all thought Cantello had change his seat and my disguise fooled a lot of people but I’m at least 12ins taller then him.

89) No not all the 70,000, but if Man Utd were playing in The Championship, say for 10 years, and didn’t win anything, how many of that 70,000 do you think would turn up then? a quarter perhaps? If that’s the case, what is your definition of Glory Hunters?
Where have you “proven” you don’t get all the decisions by the way????
Its true you have been the best team in the Prem so far, but don’t forget, Football is changeable, you were very fortunate, timing wise, to get Fergie just before the big money came in, and even then its took you over 20 years to surpass Liverpool, so don’t think just because you at the top of the tree now it will always be that way! Just think, if you had been born at a different time, you may have been a City fan?
We may get relegated, we may even yo yo, but at the end of the day we are all local and proud, and will still be here no matter what, can you honestly say the same about all your fans?

Hola,
I got to the ground early, and went through the turnstile as usual with no problem, but I sat in your mate’s seat, and just before kick-off,the guy next to me said someone always sat there, and he was just getting a beer.
So it could have been your mate who turned up to kick me out,and I went back to my seat in case he was a big guy.
Maybe it was me getting confused.
Anyway,I can understand the confusion with your blond syrup, but I bet the guys around you were asking for autographs, and the girls wanted your phone number.
I hope your explained that you were my slightly larger ‘body double’?
