New-boy Ben Foster pledges to put Albion first

New-boy Ben Foster today confirmed he will put Albion before England after completing his move to The Hawthorns from Birmingham.

The 28-year-old’s switch from St Andrew’s was confirmed last night with Boaz Myhill heading in the opposite direction – both men moving on straightforward season-long loan deals.

And Foster, who shocked England by announcing an international sabbatical during last season, has confirmed he has no immediate plans to reverse his decision.

“I quite like it as it is at the moment, just concentrating on my club career and getting my head down,” said Foster, who has five England caps and had been a regular member of Fabio Capello’s squad as understudy to Joe Hart.

“I think while that’s my main focus I deliver my best football.

“On a personal note I want to have a similar season to last year.

“I feel I did fairly well in my first full season for a good few years and I just want to carry on where I left off last season.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
