Albion goalscorer James Morrison today praised the Baggies comeback kings after they ended their tour of the United States with a battling win.

The midfielder missed a second-half penalty before scoring a fine goal just a minute later to spark his side's 3-2 fightback against Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers.

Morrison's strike, a goal from Somen Tchoyi and a spectacular stoppage-time winner from Gabriel Tamas secured victory for Roy Hodgson's men, who had trailed 2-0 at half-time.

And Morrison said: "It was a really good atmosphere. We knew before the game it would be electric and credit to the fans because they made it an enjoyable game to play in.

"Sometimes pre-season games can be a bit flat but the atmosphere in this one spurred us on.

"In fairness to Portland they gave us a bit of a lesson in the first-half but our lads deserve credit because we fought back and had our chances, including me with the penalty.

"But it's about what you do after you make a mistake and I like to think I contributed well after that.

"I think the penalty miss spurred us on."
