Albion wait on Lazio’s Tamas move
Tuesday 28th June 2011, 10:01AM BST.
Albion have told Lazio to ‘put up or shut up’ as the Italian club continues its pursuit of defender Gabriel Tamas.
The 27-year-old Romania international started just one match in the last three months of the season, in one of boss Roy Hodgson’s key changes to an Albion team which finished strongly to claim a best-ever Premier League position.
Tamas is, understandabl,y keen to pursue first-team football and, although Albion still haven’t heard officially from the Rome club, they acknowledge that the interest from Lazio is real.
The Baggies would be willing to consider doing business on Tamas – but only if Lazio can meet their demands for either a permanent sale or a loan fee.
The defender signed a three-year deal with an option for a fourth a year ago after joining the Baggies for an undisclosed fee.
Albion are treating with caution the latest speculation triggered by agent Ivan Reggiani, who claims to be Tamas’s representative but acts for Lazio.
Meanwhile, Tamas’ former team-mate Giles Barnes, cut from the Baggies squad by Hodgson after a disappointing season, has been given a fresh chance to re-ignite his dormant career at Nottingham Forest.
The 22-year-old is being considered for a contract by new Forest boss Steve McClaren.

I dont really care about this story and i am sure most of you will agree that we would rather talk about the new kit.
my opinion, i love the away kit but i feel it should have been red, whats the point in having an away kit similar to our home one?
im not so sure about the home kit, i dont like the seperation between the shoulders and the chest with the solid white patch and the adidias bit in the middle

So this Reggiani has been talking up a move for the past week and he’s nott even Tamas’ agent?! Tamas is a good squad player and his departure will be felt, but I’m sure DA and RH have already got a CH hitlist written up and already in progress. I thought Tamas or Pablo might want to go but we need a good replacement if either do.
As for this Charlie Reggi the fraud, there should be stricter laws governing what is acceptable conduct with regard to potential transfers. Agents and definately other clubs should have to pay compensation to the clubs whose players they unsettle through talking to the media. Any direct statement that is made should be agreed between both clubs. In this case for example Reggi the fraud would have to pay compensation to the Baggies for unsettling one of our players before a fee has been agreed between the clubs. What do you think?
