Peter Odemwingie's agent today played down talk of interest from Juventus and insisted the striker is loving life at The Hawthorns.

Agent David Omigie poured cold water on reports in the English and Italian media linking Juve with a big-money move for Albion's leading scorer, who has two years remaining on his contract.

And he stressed the Nigeria international is settled with the Baggies with the 29-year-old's 11 goals in an impressive debut season helping take them to the brink of Premier League safety.

"Peter has a contract with West Brom, where he is very happy," said Omigie, who helped broker Odemwingie's £2m switch from Lokomotiv Moscow last summer.

"There has been no contact with us and the only people who can say whether there has been any interest in Peter are West Brom.

"West Brom haven't told us about anything and Peter is really enjoying himself there and doing very well. He will be happy staying there unless West Brom tell us otherwise."

The Baggies are now close to clinching a second successive Premier League season after remaining unbeaten for the last seven games.

And attention behind the scenes at The Hawthorns will inevitably turn to enhancing the squad for next season.

But boss Roy Hodgson has hinted he does not foresee wholesale changes if the club make sure of their Premier League safety.

"We would be looking to keep the bulk of what we've got and look to add the two or three players that might help us become better still," said Hodgson.

"There is always room for improvement and our squad is not that big anyway.

"You have always got to be looking and there is no club in the world that sits back and says 'what we've got now is exactly what we want and we never have to look at another player again'.

"It's part of our job and we do it anyway just to protect ourselves.

"A player we're really counting on might get injured early on in the season and you need to have thought about those things.

"We need to work at that and, with as good as this squad is at the moment, we wouldn't be looking at wholesale changes."
