Jonas Olsson today offered to pay for the picture he smashed at Stoke - and revealed he expects to be fined by Albion over the damage.

The Baggies defender hit out at a photograph in the tunnel at the Britannia Stadium, leaving the glass smashed and Potters boss Tony Pulis fuming.

But the Sweden international today made his apology public and attempted to explain the incident, which was triggered by Stoke's anger at Carlos Vela's controversial late Albion equaliser.

Olsson said: "It wasn't like I went berserk. I got annoyed and hit my arm on the wall and hit the frame. I apologised straight afterwards and will, of course, pay for it.

"It was heated at the end of the game after our equaliser. Stoke felt that it might have been offside and we were disappointed, as we felt that we had good chances to win.

"Then things got irritated in the tunnel after the game with some mouthing off. I wasn't involved. But, yes, I was annoyed when I left the pitch and then it was cramped and irritated in the tunnel and I hit my arm against the frame on the wall.

"The intention was not to break the frame, but to hit the wall. I didn't see that it had glass in it."

Pulis criticised Olsson for hitting out and the 27-year-old admitted he regretted the incident.

He said: "It was a team picture of Stoke and they thought it was disrespectful. I can agree on that but I said I was sorry directly afterwards.

"I'll have to pay for the frame and will be fined by the club."

The centre-back also played down the link between the picture incident and a row on the field after the final whistle with Potters striker Ricardo Fuller, who refused to shake his hand.

Olsson said: "I was annoyed over that, but that was on the pitch. I think that you always should shake hands after a game no matter what."

And Olsson claimed boss Roy Hodgson was 'cool' about the incident after the match.

He said: "He was pretty cool about it but thought that he could have done without it.

"But it wasn't like he was upset."
