Roy Hodgson predicts more shocks

Manager Roy Hodgson today insisted Albion can win away in their quest for survival as he predicted more upsets before the end of the season.

Hodgson’s men face back-to-back away matches at Stoke and Birmingham in the next two weeks as they look to end a run of seven straight defeats on the road in all competitions.

But Hodgson is adamant they can pick up points on their travels during an unpredictable end to the relegation battle.

“We must keep on fighting and believe that if Fulham, who had a very bad away run, can win their three last away matches and take 12 out of 15 points in their last five matches of the season, we can do it,” said Hodgson.

“You just can’t judge things by looking at a programme and predicting the result.

“Tottenham have been on a very good run and played extremely well against Milan then went and got beaten 3-1 at Blackpool.

“They had lots of goal chances and they would probably have thought they didn’t deserve it, but they got it.

“That’s why we’ve got to make certain we show the tenacity to cling on in there, as Fulham did in our survival and as West Brom did in the year of their survival, whereby a good result or two in a row might just give you the boost you need.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.
