Youssouf Mulumbu hands Albion a lift

Youssouf Mulumbu is on course to return from injury for Albion’s Premier League trip to Stoke on Monday.
The midfielder is due to train tomorrow after his hamstring problem and boss Roy Hodgson expects to have him available at the Britannia Stadium.
Graham Dorrans has also recovered from the injury he picked up in the Black Country derby while Scott Carson and Jonas Olsson are expected to travel to the Potteries despite being laid low this week by illness, giving Hodgson a full squad to choose from.
Mulumbu was sidelined for Sunday’s derby with the injury he picked up against West Ham but Hodgson said: “He is progressing very well.
“He hasn’t done a session with the rest of the players yet because we are still monitoring him and doing it under controlled circumstances, which is always the case with slightly strained or pulled muscles.
“The doctors want to be 100 per cent certain that he is OK before they throw him straight into a practice situation where he is doing all the things he would do on a Saturday afternoon.
“But they are promising me that by tomorrow he should be back with the group and ready to go. We had a problem with Scott Carson at the weekend, when he fell sick at the last minute.
“His kids had a bug and he picked that up so that knocked him out for a couple of days.
“But it’s a very short-term thing.”
