Youssouf Mulumbu signs new deal
Friday 21st January 2011, 9:30AM GMT.
Albion midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu has been handed a year’s extension to his contract for the second time in seven months.
His new deal, which includes improved terms, ties him to Albion until June 2014 after this morning penning a two-and-a-half year deal with a further year’s option in the club’s favour.
Boss Roberto Di Matteo said: “He’s had a very good season so far and is a player who wants to learn.
“He’s a big favourite with the fans and I think that is down to the fact they recognise he has a specific role here.
“He does a little bit of the dirty work for the team and is a player who gives us balance. He also chips in with some goals, which aren’t expected but are a bonus!
“We are all looking forward to carrying on working with Youssouf for years to come.”
