Ishmael Miller ready for Albion role
Thursday 23rd December 2010, 9:58AM GMT.
Injury-hit Albion striker Ishmael Miller has declared himself ready for a role in the Baggies’ Christmas matches.
The powerhouse forward made his latest return from injury as a substitute in the 2-1 derby defeat at Villa.
And the 23-year-old insists he is ready for action during the hectic festive programme, although he admitted he is striving for total sharpness.
He said: “I do feel quite good right now. I feel confident and sharp. I’m not as match fit as the players who have been playing week-in, week out but that comes in time.
“I feel if I get a chance I will do myself justice and most of the time I have done exactly that. If the manager calls on me, I’m going to give my all. If I can last 90 minutes great, if I can only last 60 then so be it.
“The team is doing excellently this season. We’ve got Peter Odemwingie, who is doing tremendously well this season, and Marc-Antoine Fortune.
“If it’s my time to shine then I’ll hopefully grab it with both hands.”
Miller produced an impressive cameo after stepping off the bench at Villa and was delighted to announce himself back on the Premier League scene, after two years out following cruciate knee ligament surgery and a succession of associated injuries.
He said: “I feel good. In the last game against Villa that’s the best I’ve felt for a long time. Hopefully that’s a sign of things to come. I’m training as normal and getting through everything.
“I’ve been training at the dome as well, which is not great on the knees, but I’ve trained every day we’ve been in there.
“It’s nice to get back and show people what you can do. When you’re injured for a long time people forget.
“If you don’t come back in top form people think you’re not going to be the player you were, but I know in my heart that I will.”

Ish,
Just like you say, it takes time to come up to scratch. That is why we need another striker in during the January window. You will get back to the form you showed when playing alongside Super Kev.
BOING~~~~BOING~~~~JtH.

Ok well done Ish.
Now sit back down on the bench.
Sorry but graft, effort and determination far outweigh desire.

We’ve waited too long for Miller to come back. It harmed our chances last season – was much tougher than it should have been, and now this season we’ve suffered because he’s been out again and we’ve had no-one else. Ishmael has to hit the ground running – but meanwhile Albion can’t rely on him to provide the goals we need NOW. Tough but that’s life.

Umm…only trouble is Ish, there is one vital ingredient that you are lacking…ability. Sorry but nowhere near good enough for this league.

I really hope Ish will come back and be a good player for us. Not because of the likes of Lonely Wolf because I’d expect it from him but our own fans that want to write him off. Some of you would probably feel at home rubbing shoulders with Lonely at games, they like slagging their own players down the Mol.

I’m sure some people who make such comments like number 5, 7, and 8 are not true wba followers i would like to see there fat A… out on the football field week in week out people like them should keep there comments very much to themselves…………

8 the only fellow- 1)calling someone silly names is something most of us stopped doing when we left Junior school (or are you still at that age?).And 2) I think I’d rather have one guy with a powerful left foot, than pay 15 million for two strikers who, judging by their scoring record, don’t seem to have any feet at all.If they do,they obviously can’t shoot straight with ‘em.What do you think? Let’s have a fair and unbiased opinion…….yeah,right.

Look BROWNSUGAR, see u don’t agree with my comments in 5.
As it happens I am a season ticket holder and true BAGGIE.
Effort and body language says it all at times.
Ishmael has a lot to prove.
As I support the badge I hope he can prove me wrong.
But at the moment he has a lot to learn, also to prove his fitness.
