Albion assistant issues rallying cry

Albion assistant boss Eddie Newton has issued a rallying cry ahead of what he believes will be a vital two months for the club’s future.
The Baggies are facing a series of matches before Christmas against potential rivals for Premier League survival.
And Newton reckons the fixture list makes the next few weeks potentially pivotal to the club’s recent history.
He said: “These next two months will be important to this club and every squad member needs to dig in and be ready for it.
“The message won’t change from the gaffer or myself during meetings or on the training pitch. Within these next two months we will be playing clubs that we know we need to be competing with.
“People talk about playing Arsenal and getting a great victory or playing Manchester United and getting a great draw, and yes, they were fantastic results and I’d never take that away from the players.
“But the most important thing for me was that beating Fulham was more satisfying. Those are the games we need to get results from.
“The players are grounded. We’ve got some experienced boys who have gone up to the Premier League.
“They understand how hard this League is and understand that you will go through bad times – it’s about how you deal with those bad times.”
Albion were today gearing up for Monday’s trip to another newly-promoted club, Blackpool, with winger Chris Brunt looking to maintain his excellent recent form.
Newton has paid tribute to the wide man’s impact since the start of the season.
He said: “I thought last season Brunty didn’t get the respect he deserved. Technically he is fantastic.
“His delivery from set-pieces can be as good as anyone in the Premier League He does that in training all the time. He just sees a pass and has that peripheral vision that means he sees things other people don’t see.
“Sometimes his passes go astray because people aren’t on the same wavelength as him and it makes him look bad. But we see what he is trying to do.
“He is a fantastic professional, a very grounded individual and that’s why he is doing so well.”
