Ishmael Miller a target for Ipswich
Wednesday 27th October 2010, 10:00AM BST.
Albion’s Ishmael Miller has emerged as a loan target for Ipswich – but Town boss Roy Keane has played down his chances of landing the striker.
Miller is set to be made available now he is fit again after a calf injury with first-team chances few and far between with the Baggies, as evidenced by the five minutes as a sub he played for a second-string side in the 4-1 Carling Cup win at Leicester last night.
Albion’s opponents in that game have already registered their interest in bringing him to the club, with Keane following suit after his side’s cup win over Northampton last night.
But the Tractor Boys boss does doubt whether they have the pulling power to seal the deal.
Keane said: “I am trying to get attacking players in but Ishmael Miller will have plenty of options. If you think we are the only club in for a player like him, then you are mad.
“I don’t think we would be the first option for players from Premier League clubs in the Midlands or the North West.”
