Boss wants Albion to stay grounded

Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo has urged his side to keep their feet on the ground despite Saturday’s shock 3-2 win at Arsenal.

The Baggies left Arsene Wenger’s side reeling by claiming a 3-0 lead in the second-half, before withstanding a late fightback as the Gunners reduced the arrears to 3-2.

It was the club’s first Premier League away win against one of the division’s established ‘big four’, their first victory at Arsenal since 1987 and their first win success in the top flight for more than two years.

Di Matteo said: “I enjoyed Saturday. We’re happy after wins and we enjoyed the moment. But every club has a different sort of pressure.

“Our pressure is to change the reputation of the club and stop it being labelled a yo-yo team.

“The fact this win was against Arsenal away means the win ranks highly up there, but I wouldn’t change the results against Sunderland or Birmingham because they were good wins too. We are trying to change the reputation.

“If we can do that then we’ve achieved what we want to.”
