Albion striker Peter Odemwingie today insisted he will flourish in the Premier League thanks to his history as a ‘big game player’.

The Nigeria international has made an immediate impact at The Hawthorns since his £2m switch from Lokomotiv Moscow at the end of the summer transfer window.

And the 29-year-old is confident he will continue to prosper in England – because every game carries a big-match vibe.

“My friends always told me that they followed my career and in the big games I was always there,” he said.

“I think that is the fact that the people are involved in the game and they give you the extra push that you need.

“So far when I played for Lille in the Champions League or the big games in Moscow I was always present. There are no small games here so even if I was to miss Arsenal next week I would not cry about it because every game is a big game. I am relaxed because I know every game I play will have a big atmosphere.”

Odemwingie has scored two goals in four games since arriving in the Midlands.

Odem Wingie has many attributes, but I myself like his awareness and speed of the mark which allows him to find space to get his shots away. I can only say on what I have seen, He is an astounding player. Can’t wait to see Tchoyi partner him in being ALBIONs
strike pair. If they can read one another, they will be something special.
