Albion goalkeeper Luke Daniels has joined League One side Charlton on a 28-day loan after returning to fitness.

The 22-year-old has moved to the Valley after proving his fitness in a reserves outing at Blackpool in midweek.

Daniels was forced to return to the Hawthorns in August when an old back injury struck again just a week after moving to Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan.

The youngster, who learned his trade at the Baggies academy after being released as a youngster by Manchester United, has enjoyed impressive loan spells with Shrewsbury and Tranmere in the last two seasons.

But Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo is keen to delay a decision on loaning out other players while his side remain in the Carling Cup.

Defender Leon Barnett and winger Reuben Reid have already joined Norwich and Walsall respectively, while strikers Simon Cox and Chris Wood are both attracting interest.

But Di Matteo said: “We have three injured players at the moment, but the second issue is that we are still in the Carling Cup and we have another game next Wednesday.

“After next Wednesday we will see where we stand and review the situation.”
