Hiwula has joined the Bantams from Championship outfit Huddersfield after the two clubs agreed a season long loan.

The 21-year-old, who has enjoyed two loan spells with the Saddlers, had been a key target for boss Jon Whitney even before star striker Bradshaw left for Barnsley.

Speaking earlier this month, Whitney said: "Jordy I would love to get back.

"He might be beyond our remit. But I have expressed my interest and called Jordy two or three times.

"I like him as a kid. I see Jordy as part of Walsall Football Club."

Hiwula scored nine goals in 20 appearances during his first loan spell with the Saddlers in 2015, but made less of an impact when he returned earlier this year, netting a further three times in 16 games.

Bradshaw, 23, traded life at the Banks's for Oakwell on Thursday, but left a heartfelt message of thanks for Walsall fans following his departure for a fee in the region of £650,000.

In a message posted on Twitter, he said: "I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that's involved and has been involved with Walsall Football Club over the past two years.

"The staff, players, chairman and most of all the fans have made me and my family feel very welcome.

"We've made memories that will never be forgotten! The club's given me the opportunity to play at Wembley, an incredible achievement and an unforgettable experience.

"It was made all the more spectacular by the 30,000 Saddlers in attendance. I will always remember Walsall as the fantastic club it is.

"I'll always remember how it has enhanced my career beyond belief and allowed me to perform at an international level."

Meanwhile, Walsall named St Francis Group as new sponsors of the Community Stand at the Banks's Stadium.
