Heckingbottom, who guided his side to victory over the Saddlers in last season's play-offs, was named permanent manager of the Tykes today.

And he revealed he is interested in boosting his squad with the signings of Bradshaw, as well as Colchester United midfielder George Moncur.

Heckingbottom said: "We're looking at a lot of players for next season, but Tom and George Moncur are two players we've put bids in for.

"They're both very good players and players we think would fit in well at the club. They fit the mould of player we're looking at.

"Looking at our squad we definitely need another centre forward, a central midfielder and strength on the wings. Those are areas we're looking to strengthen in."

Reporters in Yorkshire claim Barnsley saw a bid of £400,000 rejected for the forward who is also interesting the likes of Birmingham, Preston and Glasgow Rangers.

They are thought to be ready to increase their offer to £500,000 but the Express & Star understands the Saddlers board is looking for a fee closer to £1million.
