The tricky winger scored just two minutes after being introduced from the bench as the Saddlers battled their way to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night.

Morris has made a number of impressive cameos as a substitute this season but has only started nine times in League One, with the last of those coming in the 3-1 home defeat to Barnsley back in March.

And while the 21-year-old admitted he has been frustrated, he is now hoping to play an even bigger role in Walsall's quest for promotion.

He said: "I am feeling frustrated at the moment. With new managers coming in, it has been hard for me to get into the starting line-up.

"Jon (Whitney) says he sees me as a really good player and he says he wants me to keep doing what I'm doing and I'll get in.

"So I'm just going to do that, take it one step at a time and hope to start in the next game. I try to make an impact when I come on, that's what every substitute wants to do.

"As long as I'm doing that, I'm doing my job. My aim is to get more games and more starts under my belt – and get more goals as well."

Morris' goal against the Robins was only his second of the season with the youngster admitting he was relieved to see the ball cross the line.

He continued: "I've been really close with a lot of shots – I think I've hit the bar four times this season. I have been really unlucky so I was really glad to see the ball go in against Swindon.

"It was incredible because I think I only had three touches in between coming on and getting the goal.

"I got another quick goal against Southend away a couple of years ago, but I think that one was even quicker.

"It was really important one too, because it was vital we got that point. We wanted all three of course but we have to be pleased with the one."

Morris is now looking forward to Walsall's clash with Bradford on Saturday and the chance to continue to reel in second-placed Burton Albion.

He said: "Bradford will be a tough game because they are a good team. They were mid-table, but have really pushed on.

"It's going to be a really tricky for us on Saturday but we've just got to keep pushing and we'll be all right.

"We are all focused on finishing in the top two and winning promotion automatically. There are four games left and we want the three points in every one of them.

"In football that's not always the case so you've just got to put the graft in, keep going and with the players we've got, we have a good chance."

Morris was also pleased to see top scorer Tom Bradshaw return from a groin injury in the draw with the Robins.

He added: "Tom is key. He's a goalscorer so we need him in there, especially in the last 20 minutes of games. It's great to have him back."
