The Saddlers suffered late heart-break on Saturday as Blackpool scored deep into stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw at the Banks's. But O'Driscoll's team have no time to dwell on that disappointment with the Saddlers back in action at Fleetwood tomorrow.

That game will be the seventh so far in a hectic January, with Reading in the FA Cup and Doncaster in League One also taking place in the next eight days.

Yet O'Driscoll believes his squad is perfectly able to cope with the demands.

"If you keep winning games then the players would prefer to be playing than training," he said. "Playing games is what they enjoy.

"The travelling is more of a concern – that is sometimes a problem.

"But if you want to be successful then you have to play more games.

"The Cup run, the players have enjoyed. "Hopefully that will continue at Reading on Saturday, but first we are looking forward to Fleetwood."

Despite widespread speculation to the contrary, the Saddlers are yet to receive any firm offers for their players this January. And when asked if he was relieved no club had been in contact, O'Driscoll admitted he was. "Am I relieved? I suppose I am relieved," he said.

"We are not sitting on tenterhooks. If that happens, it happens and we'll have to deal with it," said the boss

Saturday's game was watched by Bournemouth midfielder Josh Wakefield who enjoyed a two-day trial with the Saddlers last week.

But while his opportunity to impress was hampered by the cold whether, O'Driscoll refused to rule out a potential move for the player.

"We have to look short term as well as long term because there are so many players out of contract. He is one that has got a good pedigree at Bournemouth. He has done okay," he added.
