Tom Bradshaw, Romaine Sawyers and Rico Henry are all believed to be on the radar of clubs higher up the football pyramid who are looking to strengthen in January.

But the Saddlers board is determined to keep hold of the trio, with the players themselves also keen to stay as they look to win promotion to the Championship.

And, while admitting every player has their price, O'Driscoll is hoping to improve his squad this month rather than have it weakened.

When asked about speculation surrounding his players, he said: "I've not heard a thing – nobody has rung me.

"But most Premier League clubs don't start spending until the end of the window and that normally has a knock-on effect.

"If somebody drops out of a Premier League squad then they'll be attracted to a Championship club. Then someone drops out of that squad and all of a sudden somebody will buy them.

"We have to bide our time in the queue. But you'd like to think we can keep all the players and the squad intact.

"This is football, everybody has their price – no matter who it is. But we'd like to, if we can, add to the squad rather than deplete it."

Since taking charge at the Banks's Stadium, O'Driscoll has set his players the challenge of winning 10 points from batches of five League One games.

Tuesday's night 1-1 draw at promotion rivals Coventry ensured the Saddlers hit their target from the head coach's opening give games at the helm.

O'Driscoll believes they will win promotion if they continue that form, adding: "Over the five games, we have got 10 points.

"If we get 10 points from every five-game slot, you are almost guaranteed promotion."
