The Saddlers will take on Jose Mourinho's men at a packed Banks's Stadium in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Etheridge started his fledgling career with the Londoners, joining the Stamford Bridge ranks as a 12-year-old back in 2003.

And while tomorrow's night cup tie is exactly the sort of game the keeper could have featured in, Etheridge is delighted to be lining up for the Saddlers against his old employers.

"I don't regret any decision I have made in my football career," he said. "I'm very happy

with how my career has panned out and I've had a fantastic

start at Walsall and feel very blessed.

"At Chelsea, I had always had a good relationship with Neil Bath, the academy director.

"He was quite straight forward with me.

"He said I could stay but he didn't know how many games I was going to play.

"He was brutally honest and for me that was fantastic because I wanted to play football.

"I moved on and I'm glad I did."

To get to the third round of the competition, Walsall have already registered cup scalps against Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

And now Etheridge is determined to make it a hat-trick against his former side.

"To play them here at home, I think we have really got a chance," he added. "People might say I'm crazy but we have pulled off wins against Forest and Brighton.

"There is no reason why we can't beat Chelsea as well.

"All the boys want to progress further in the competition.

"And they won't want to come here.

"It's a smaller stadium than what they are used to and if they come here and are a bit complacent we have a great chance."
