Hundreds of excited Saddlers fans queued around the pitch today to get their hands on tickets for the dream draw against Chelsea.

Tickets went on sale at 10am today to season ticket holders for the home game which will be played on September 23.

Fans arrived at the stadium from 7.30am to snap up their seats for the Capital One Cup, third round match.

It is expected to be a sell out with 1,500 seats allocated for Chelsea fans and the remainder of the 10,959 tickets going on sale to fans with a 2015-2016 booking history from next Monday.

Dan Mole, spokesman for the club said: It's the biggest draw we could get and it will be fantastic to welcome the current cup holders to Banks' Stadium."

Fans lined the pitch and expected to be in line for around three hours, with many having waited more than six hours for their Wembley tickets.

School friends Joe Horn, Josh Hunt and Aaron Folks, all 13, from Aldridge were eager to get their tickets.

Joe said: "We are on great form at the moment, I think it will be a tight game."

Other fans were just as optimistic about Walsall's chances.

Derek Greenslade, 73, said: "It is dangerous to underestimate the quality of Walsall."
