And the reward was a home tie with Chelsea after the draw was made last night.

"It's a dream draw especially for me growing up in London. It's a team I've always supported."

Smith admitted he was delighted with the comeback win, after the Saddlers initially fell behind to a dubious Jake Forster-Caskey penalty.

The Saddlers chief said: "It was a great result. I felt in the first half we paid them too much respect and were a little slow on the ball.

"They then went ahead through a very dubious penalty. But I think the result showed the resilience of the players.

"They created some really good chances in the second half against a really well organised team.
