The 19-year-old has agreed new terms at the Banks's Stadium as he looks to nail down a starting place in the 2015-16 League One campaign.

The powerful forward has already racked up 10 first-team appearances for the Saddlers, after penning his first pro deal in December 2013.

The Sierra Leone youngster, who grew up in Holland, netted his first goals in senior football last season while on loan at non-league Southport.

And he's hoping he can emulate Morris, who came back from a similar spell at Wrexham to finish the season in Walsall's starting line-up.

Bakayoko said: "I'm happy to have signed this new contract. I can't wait for pre-season to start now, so that I can get back down to work and show what I can do.

"It benefitted me to go out on loan last season. To play regular, competitive first-team football certainly helped in my development.

"I only have to look at the progress that Kieron Morris has made to act as motivation. I want to be playing regularly and scoring goals.

"I know that it will require plenty of hard work and determination, but we have these qualities among the squad here.

"I know that my own development will continue in this environment."
