Andy Halliday came for Walsall boss
Saturday 26th November 2011, 10:59AM GMT.
New-boy Andy Halliday has revealed boss Dean Smith convinced him to join Walsall in just 10 minutes.
The winger signed on loan from Middlesbrough on Thursday and admitted he was won over by the Banks’s Stadium chief.
He has not played for Boro this term after suffering a groin injury and falling out of favour with Riverside boss and former Albion manager Tony Mowbray.
And Halliday insisted he could not say no to Smith.
“We only had a 10 minute chat and I could see he was very proud in what he does,” said the 20-year-old, who is with Walsall until January.
“I knew a little bit about the manager as a lot of people have told me good things about him.”
