Saddlers boss Dean Smith is staying positive
Wednesday 23rd November 2011, 10:57AM GMT.
Boss Dean Smith today insisted he isn’t fazed by Walsall’s slump into the League One drop zone and targeted an FA Cup fightback.
The Saddlers plunged into the bottom four after Saturday’s 4-2 defeat to Bury and host Exeter in their first-round replay tonight.
They have won just once in their last 15 games but Smith remains defiant.
“We’re in a better position than we were in last year,” he said. “I’m disappointed we’re in the bottom four but when I took over last year we’d played four more games than most teams and were eight points adrift. So, if people ask ‘are we in a better position?’ then my answer is yes but we’ve got to start turning results around.”
