George Bowerman eyes goals for Saddlers
Wednesday 23rd November 2011, 12:28PM GMT.
Red-hot George Bowerman today targeted a scoring spree to ease any pressure on Walsall boss Dean Smith.
The striker is eyeing another chance in tonight’s FA Cup first-round replay with Exeter after bagging his first senior goal.
His effort in Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at home to Bury made it eight goals in four games for the club’s first XI and reserves. And he wants to continue his run for boss Smith after admitting he owes him a debt of gratitude.
“I’ve got eight in four now and the gaffer has been with me through the youth team so hopefully I can start scoring goals for him,” said the 20-year-old, who scored four against Tividale in the Birmingham Senior Cup.
