Saddlers bring in Mark Wilson on loan
Friday 28th October 2011, 11:30AM BST.
Walsall today signed former Manchester United midfielder Mark Wilson from Championship club Doncaster on a month’s loan.
The 32-year-old has signed in time to play in tomorrow’s League One game against Milton Keynes Dons at the Banks’s Stadium and will wear the squad number 24.
The former England under-21 international played with Walsall manager Dean Smith at Sheffield Wednesday in 2004 and the Saddlers boss is delighted to be reunited with his former team-mate.
Smith said: “Mark is an experienced player who knows the game well. He has played a lot of games at Championship level and we are pleased that Doncaster have allowed him to come here.
“I played alongside him very briefly at Sheffield Wednesday and he is a player that I know all about. He has the right pedigree and that fact that Doncaster have allowed him to play in the FA Cup is an added bonus.”
