Kevan Hurst: Walsall FC failing manager Dean Smith
Thursday 27th October 2011, 11:29AM BST.
Kevan Hurst admits Walsall have failed manager Dean Smith.
The winger insists the Saddlers have flopped this term after one win in 10 games that leaves them 17th in League One – just two points off the drop zone.
Smith rescued Hurst – and others including Ryan Jarvis – in the summer after they were released by their former clubs.
And the 26-year-old said the squad have not repaid Smith’s faith with results.
“The table doesn’t lie,” said Hurst. “The gaffer said it’s one win in 10 games and it’s simply not good enough. “We can play as well as we want to but at the end of the day you need the points and that’s what we’re lacking.”

What a strange two weeks it has been since our last game. I haven’t looked over my neighbour’s fence with as much interest since Pamela Anderson moved in next door and regularly used her trampoline, writes Albion blogger Jarrod Hill.

Hold on, last week we were told the table DOES lie.
Can someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE confirm whether the table lies or not. I need to know if I can trust the league table.

Hang on, never mind failing Deano what about us fans paying good money week in week out to see second rate players doing a third rate job..
The club is paying you good money for performance that in the real world would get you the sack..
I hope dearly that the players read these comment and know the depth of feeling among the supports.

Same old same old, each season it’s the same, maybe the stark facts of relegation ‘might’ ignite some passion in some players, plus we might win the odd match in lower the leagues…
As regards anyone of any note reading these comments, I doubt that very very much, otherwise they would see how we all feel and try and do something about it rather than coming out with same old clap trap after each poor performance.

Can’t help but feel sorry for saddlers fans. How they tolerate this continual one step forward and two steps back scenario season after season I’ll never know. Starved of funds by their owner and signing other club’s cast-offs who are either injury prone or past their sell-by date, it’s no wonder the atmosphere at home matches is depressing. I know some fantastic people who have supported this club through thick and thin for many years, and they deserve better.

Is it just me or are walsall fans the most negative in the Country. Ok we have not made a great start but in reality its a new team and I thik the majority of the players are giving 100%.It certainly a lot better than last season when we were getting beaten by 3 or 4 clear goals. All of our defeats bar one have been by the odd goal. we are not that far away from being a good team but the lads need support.Look at some of the other teams around us like Exeter, Yeovil, Bournemouth, they are also struggling but the fane are 100% behind the team.Lets see a big change in atmosphere on Saturday as I predict a win for us.UTS

Here’s James again. Non-stop moaning at the fans while steadfastly refusing to even slightly admit there is anything wrong at the club.
It’s a new team he says. It’s a new team every bleeding year mate. We only buy rejects on one year deals and have to totally rebuild every summer. It’s not good for the club this constant chopping and changing. Mind you, I doubt you’ve let that pesky negative fact into your mind.

The fact is tinned on 4000 crowds what else do you expect. The club are doing well to even survive at this level with the poor backing from the Walsall public. I wouldnt mind if we were bottom of League 2 but we are in a very competetive league with some good teams with big support and bigger budgets and we are competing in there. No team has outplayed us this season and in fact we have performed well against some of the bigger outfits. Are you seriously expecting much more? I for one am happy the lads are at least trying ths season and i am not going to come on here criticising them every week its pointless.
