Boss Dean Smith today insisted Jimmy Walker's record chase is not his concern and has told the Walsall goalkeeper to focus on reclaiming his place.

The Saddlers shot-stopper needs just 21 appearances to beat Colin Harrison's record of 530 but has lost his No.1 spot to David Grof.

The Hungarian replaced Walker for the 2-0 win at Bournemouth last month after the 38-year-old left the squad when his partner went into labour.

And Smith insisted the looming record does not bother him.

"Not at all, that's Jimmy's target not mine. My target is to win football matches," he said. "David's doing well, he's got to do well to keep Jimmy Walker out of the team."[24link]
