Anton Peterlin fights for Walsall spot

Anton Peterlin today vowed to fight for his Walsall spot with Adam Chambers eyeing a first-team recall.
The American midfielder has deputised for the suspended Chambers since his red card against Middlesbrough this month.
The former Leyton Orient man is available for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth following a three-game ban but Peterlin insisted he won’t just give up his place.
He said: “Chambo is a very good player. I’ve done well these past few games and we’ll see what happens.
“But it’s all up to the gaffer, all I can do is compete for that spot.”
The Saddlers have won one, drawn two and lost one of their opening four League One games following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Yeovil.
And Peterlin took the blame for Gavin Williams’ first-half equaliser, which cancelled out Jon Macken’s stunner.
Peterlin said: “I feel like it was two points lost. I was partly at fault for the goal as I let the guy run behind me, so I feel like I kind of let the team down.
“We lost two points and I feel we should have walked away with three instead.
“Every game is different there’s no game that’s the same in this league, they came up here and did well.”
