The 22-year-old Hungarian is the latest of manager Dean Smith's seven summer signings so far to come through the doors at The Banks's Stadium eager for the challenge of transforming last season's relegation strugglers.

The Budapest-born shot-stopper is hoping his one-year contract will be the launch point for a more settled spell in his career after a nomadic journey so far from Hibernian to Notts County with loan spells at Tamworth and Mansfield.

Grof, who was a second-half substitute in this week's double-header against Wolves and Villa, will be hoping for a full chance in the remaining friendlies at Cheltenham and Port Vale next week.

But he is ready to answer Smith's challenge to not just settle for the understudy's role but push Walker for the first-team shirt.
