Saddlers promise changes after fans’ survey

Walsall today promised further change after the results of a fans’ survey were revealed.

The Saddlers are keen to listen to their supporters ahead of the launch of their early bird season tickets next month and released the outcome of the online survey this morning.

Over 500 fans completed the questionnaire on the club’s official website in the wake of the AGM earlier this month.

Chief executive Stefan Gamble knows the importance of listening to their supporters with the club averaging just 3,775 at the Banks’s Stadium this term.

“Obviously, the club fully understand that the most important thing to our supporters is getting things right on the pitch,” said Gamble. “However, if we can complement that with getting things right off the field, then we will be in a strong position.

“The results of the survey will be taken on board and we will look to implement a range of new initiatives as a result of the feedback.”

The survey covered a range of topics from buying a ticket, facilities, season-tickets and food.

The club admitted they needed to look at new ways of attracting the next generation of fans with the average age of those who took part over 18.

And with season tickets on sale next month the survey revealed price is the most important factor to supporters.

The inclusion of a free cup game and a percentage off club merchandise were also a priority to fans.

The majority of supporters who took part would like a singing section introduced. The club will contact current season-ticket holders to gauge their views.
