Bordeaux have agreed to sell in-demand winger Malcom to Roma, ending Everton’s reported pursuit of the Brazilian.

The 21-year-old, who scored 12 Ligue 1 goals for Bordeaux last season, had been linked with Everton and Roma’s Serie A rivals Inter Milan throughout the summer.

A tweet from Bordeaux on Monday evening read: “Bordeaux can inform you that an agreement has been reached, pending the signing of administrative documents, with Roma for the transfer of Malcom.”

Roma, who also confirmed an arrangement was in place, are reportedly paying 40 million euros (£35.7million) to recruit the former Corinthians forward, having received a serious cash injection from the record 72.5 million euro (£64.7million) sale of goalkeeper Alisson to Liverpool last week.

The Giallorossi reached the semi-finals of the Champions League last season and are attempting to build on their recent success by signing the likes of Javier Pastore, Justin Kluivert and now Malcom.

Everton, meanwhile, are understood to be closing in on the capture of another Brazilian, Richarlison of Watford, who is also 21 and who is expected to cost the Toffees 40 million euros (£35.7million).
