The initial staging of heat one saw the Robins gate on a 5-1.

However, Rohan Tungate was excluded after getting out of shape on bend two before clattering into the side of team-mate Jason Doyle.

The re-run saw Freddie Lindgren on the back wheel of Doyle for the full four laps but unable to find a way past the Robins skipper.

Ashley Morris made a super getaway to lead heat two but as he pulled clear off the second bend, fellow reserve Kyle Howarth spun round on bend one and retried from the race.

Stefan Nielsen got up the inside of Morris on the entrance to lap two, before Wright charged underneath down the back straight to put the Robins on a 5-1.

But luck was on Wolves' side once again as Stefan Nielsen lost concentration and buried his bike under the air fence on bend two of the third lap while leading, resulting in an awarded 3-2 to the hosts.

Sam Masters and Josh Grajczonek were wheel to wheel down the back straight in heat three before Masters edged in front on bend three of the opening lap.

Grajczonek nipped back up the inside off bend two of the next lap before Nick Morris binned it on bend one of the third to gift the Wolves another point.

Guest Nicolai Klindt cut underneath Wright to split him from team-mate Justin Sedgmen in heat four as the Robins opened up a 13-10 lead.

Wolves edged in front with a 5-1 from Lindgren and guest Scott Nicholls, but the Robins responded with a maximum of their own from the gate in heat seven.

That kick-started a dominant period for the hosts who were 11 ahead after 10.

Team manager Peter Adams nominated Nicholls for double points in the next, but a second place only would claw no points back with Masters squeezed out.

Two further shared heats followed before a 5-1 from the gate courtesy of Masters and Klindt gave the visitors sudden hope.

In the final race Robins skipper Doyle appeared to come down on his own.

Referee Jim McGregor deemed it an unsatisfactory start and Doyle was allowed back in the re-run which he went on to win.
