Carl Fogarty today hailed Wolves world champion Tai Woffinden and insisted he has the X-Factor to become a superstar.

The four-time World Superbike champion reckons Woffinden, who became Speedway world champion last year, mirrors his own character.

Woffinden claimed the title in October to become Britain's first Speedway world champion in 13 years. He also won despite breaking his collarbone just a month before the final showdown in Poland.

And Fogarty believes Woffinden's edge gives him the power to dominate his rivals.

Fogarty said: "He's a character and that's why the national press have latched on to him. He is that little bit different and he has an edge to him. What he did was fantastic and I will follow him next year. He is a brave guy who wants to win races and that's what I did. You can see it."
