Wolves’ Elite League speedway title bid is over for another year.
The Monmore outfit were turned over 55-38 by Midlands rivals Birmingham in the second leg of their play-off semi-final at Perry Barr, losing the tie 101-82 on aggregate.
Team boss Peter Adams was philosophical in defeat, pointing to the team’s injury problems.
“We were going there without three key riders with Jacob Thorssell, Tai Woffinden and Ty Proctor all ruled out,” he said.
“Birmingham have been the best team in the league this season – they were worthy winners.”
The Brummies go to Poole on Monday in the first leg of the final.
They host the return at Perry Barr the following Monday (October 14).
