The Stourbridge thrower's challenge was eventually ended 6-2 by Dave Chisnall at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan on Friday.

Fullwell had beaten John Scott and David Ladley 6-3 - who lost despite hitting a nine-dart finish - in the first tournament of the weekend.

Richie Burnett was beaten by the same margin, before he dumped out World Youth champion Michael Smith 6-5 after a last leg decider.

Fullwell also reached the fifth round on Saturday, dumping out Gary Anderson 6-4 on the way, before losing 6-2 to Steve Beaton.

He reached the third round on Sunday, beating Stephen McNally 6-2 and 6-5 respectively, before bowing out 6-2 to Shropshire's David Pallett.

Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones reached the fifth round on Sunday, while Rugeley's Mark Hylton made it to the third round on Saturday.

Jones' run was halted by Dean Winstanley 6-1 yesterday after wins over Benito van de Pas, Brian Woods and Jason Lovett got him that far.

'The Wanderer,' who received a first round bye through all three tournaments, made to the third round on Saturday after beating Michael Rasztovits 6-4.

PDC newcomer and Saturday's title winner Stephen Bunting put him out 6-2, as did Mark Barilli 6-2 at the same stage of Friday's competition.

Hylton enjoyed his best run in a PDC competition for some time on Saturday, bouncing back from winning just a leg in a 6-1 loss to Darron Brown on Friday.

'Mile High' - a former airline cabin crew manager - whitewashed Paul Lennon 6-0 and beat Jason Hogg 6-4, before losing 6-4 to Dean Winstanley.

His Sunday spell mirrored that of a flat Friday, as the 47-year-old missed chances in the first round which were punished by Steve Douglas, who went through 6-3.

Bloxwich's Matthew Dennant reached the second round on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Keith Stephen, before losing 6-2 to Stuart Kellett.

Brierley Hill's Mark Jones didn't make it past the first round of any of the three tournaments after defeats to Andy Jenkins, Ross Smith and Jamie Lewis.
