BDO world title hopeful on way

BDO world championship hopeful Tony O'Shea is coming to Wolverhampton for a darts exhibition later this month after the tournament at Lakeside ends.

'Silverback' opens his challenge for an elusive first world title against John Walton tomorrow night and will be at the Cleveland Arms, Stowheath Lane, on January 23.

O'Shea evens up the 'Battle of the Commentators' as the voice of BDO darts, Bobby George, is pitted against PDC pundits and former players Wayne Mardle and Peter Manley.

The quartet will be jostling for position before they have even got to the oche in a 'Walk On Challenge,' where their musical entrances will be judged on crowd reaction.

George's 'We Are The Champions,' O'Shea's 'Hey Baby,' Manley's 'Is This the Way to Amarillo' and Mardle's 'Hawaii Five-O' theme are regarded as real crowd-pleasers.
