Cricket: Stafford-born Joe Leach takes hat-trick in first three balls of match

Stafford-born seamer Joe Leach got Worcestershire's Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Northamptonshire off to a rip-roaring start this morning.

The 24-year-old took a hat-trick from the first three balls of the match.

Richard Levi and Rob Keogh both pushed forward defensively when caught behind by Ben Cox and Ben Duckett guided the next delivery to gully where Jack Shantry held a low chance.

Leach, who attended Yarlet School, near Stafford, turned out for Milford Hall and Staffordshire before switching allegiances to Shrewsbury and Shropshire.
