An extra 750 temporary seats will be in place each day for the Third Test, starting on July 29.

Bosses at Warwickshire announced the move this morning, in the afterglow of England's record One Day International victory over New Zealand last night.

The additional tickets could generate a record aggregate attendance for a Test Match at Edgbaston, with the seats located above the Stanley Barnes Stand.

The seats will be installed by Arena Seating, which has a long-standing relationship with Warwickshire.

They have previously installed both temporary and permanent seating at Edgbaston Stadium.

Gareth Roberts, Bears' commercial director, said: "Edgbaston has a fantastic history of staging crucial Ashes Test Matches.

"The 'Greatest Test' of the 2005 series will be remembered by cricket fans around the world. We had used temporary seating at Edgbaston before our £32million redevelopment.

"By creating a partnership with Arena Seating, we are ensuring that one of the leading providers in this field will provide an increased capacity of the stadium."

The extra tickets are available now priced at £81 from www.edgbaston.com and on 0844 847 1902.
