The 30-year-old welterweight boxes the 30th bout of his professional career at Walsall Town Hall next Saturday night,

writes Craig Birch.

The first ring time since passing his 10th anniversary of being a paid fighter comes on the 'Summer Scorcher' show promoted by Errol Johnson's Black Country Boxing.

Hunt turned pro at the same venue in 2006 aged 20, scoring his only first round stoppage against an overwhelmed Ian Clyde.

How the former Midlands champion would love to do that again but it would be a tall order against William Warburton, who has been halted early on just twice in 124 pro outings.

It's likely to be safety first for the tall operator, who has 23 wins with another two TKOs and four defeats - all inside the distance - along with two draws.

He's still in the 'Hunt' for further title tests and appears to retain a hunger for success, as he looks to increase his longevity in the game.

A bloodbath with Faheem Khan which he won on points three months ago was his last action, a break which he feels has done him the power of good.

He said: "I want to get back in among it. I'd like another crack at the Midlands title or look for something bigger like the English (title).

"I've held the belt I always set myself the target of achieving and now I'd like to kick on again. It will be nice to get back in there and blow away a few cobwebs.

"I had a few niggling injuries, after the Khan fight, but I'm fully fit and fully focused now. I won the title in Walsall (outpointed Sullivan Mason, April 2015) and the Town Hall is my favourite venue.

"I'm looking forward to getting in there now."

Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 ringside, are on sale now from the Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900.

Sponsors Grosvenor Casino Walsall, Bentley Mill Way, will host the weigh-in and after-show party (over 18s). A number of free taxis from Yellow Taxis will at the Town Hall to go to the casino.
