Tipton's Lee Glover admits he will be going all out to make sure his second chance at the English title stays in his own hands tonight.

Glover was outpointed for the national crown at super featherweight by champion Jon Kays a year ago, after travelling to the Oldham Sports Centre.

Now 'the Tipton Slasher' returns to Lancashire to go for the English belt down at feather, taking on the undefeated Issac Lowe at the King George's Hall in Blackburn.

'The Westgate Warrior' can call upon the support of his home crowd for fight night and Glover has told him to be ready for war, writes Craig Birch.

The 27-year-old has picked up the British Masters and Bronze belts since his last trip away and feels he's better equipped to go the 10-round distance.

And the Black Country boxer wants to leave nothing to chance, after that narrow majority points loss to Kays. One judge it all square, the others with just one and two rounds in it respectively.

He said: "I have trained good and feel sharp, as I've had decent notice and and a good camp. Now I am going up there looking for the win.

"I have got to take my chances where I can get them and my game plan is ready. I am going out all guns blazing and I will put everything into it.

"I know he's a nice tidy boxer, it's going to be a good fight but he's never been past six rounds, I have and will look to push him late on.

"I want to use my strength and take him into the trenches, as I know the only way I can be absolutely sure of winning is by stoppage and being down at feather will help.

"I thought I won my last shot at the English, the judges gave it to him so I need to be ahead by a more convincing margin this time.

"There will be no excuses tonight, I can put whatever has happened before right and I am looking to win this and then go for the British title."

He competes for a crown vacated by Josh Warrington, who picked up the strap on West Midlands soil in 2012.

He watched from ringside as his old rival Chris Male, from Cradley, had his hopes dashed by the all-action Leeds man at the Venue in Dudley.

Warrington has since blazed a trail to British, Commonwealth and European honours, which has given Glover heart he could follow suit.

He said: "It shows you what can be done and I never thought Josh would kick on as he has on the basis of that fight.

"He's took his chances and fair play to him, but I had a good amateur background as well and I feel like I can do a lot more than I have. It's all about chasing your dreams."
